About the Role
Jhpiego is recruiting a Project Director to lead an anticipated project under the RISE program, focusing on Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, and Nutrition (MNCH-N). The role involves providing strategic leadership, technical guidance, and overall management to strengthen lifesaving health services in Burundi. The Director will serve as the primary liaison with the donor, the Ministry of Health, and partners, ensuring coordination with RISE-Burundi’s HIV programming.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all project activities to reduce maternal and child mortality and improve nutrition outcomes.
• Ensure high-quality implementation, financial oversight, and compliance with donor rules.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and learning, ensuring evidence-driven adaptation.
• Coordinate closely with HIV programming for efficiency and joint planning.
• Build strong partnerships with government, donors, and local stakeholders.
• Mentor and manage a multidisciplinary team in complex environments.
• Represent the project nationally and internationally, advocating for MNCH-N priorities.

Qualifications
• Advanced degree (MD, MPH, PhD) in Public Health, Medicine, Nutrition, or related field.
• Minimum 9 years’ experience in large-scale international health programs, preferably in MNCH and Nutrition.
• Strong background in technical leadership, program integration, and health systems strengthening.
• Experience in resource-constrained settings, ideally in Burundi.
• Expertise in MNCH care, nutrition programming, and health information systems.
• Fluency in English and French required.
